Ok so everyone and their dog has had a go at remixing The xx, and quite frankly there are some really god awful ones floating about. However Derek Walin has managed to produce something special here, remixing my favourite The xx song ‘Do You Mind’ crafting something that I would even go as far as to say is on par with the likes of the Matthew Dear and Four Tet remixes of ‘VCR’.
You might not have heard of the The xx’s ‘Do you mind’ version before, but the B side to The xx’s third single release ‘Islands’ is actually one of their best tracks, so I implore you to seek it out and fall in love with the song just as I have.
