After somewhat of a hiatus, a short interlude if you will, The Selection is back serving you a delicious dollop of house music with a side order of DJs all suitable for human consumption!

Tiga – Bugatti

Girl comes up to me and says what you driving? Bugatti…sadly not the car I drive, but perhaps if you’re a super cool DJ and your name is Tiga then you have Bugattis a’plenty. Played for for the first time at Glasto by Annie Mac, the track ‘Bugatti’ is a very catchy number that’s guaranteed to get stuck in your head. The audio effects used create a bassline that’s robotic and somewhat tinny and although that sounds wrong, trust me it’s so SO right. It went down a right treat when I first heard it on the dance floors of Dalston last weekend

Tom Misch – Memory

Now for some brand new music from a very talented new producer who’s only the tender age of 19! (thanks for making us all look bad Tom) ‘Memory’ is a gorgeous slow tempo track filled with the echo of steel drums, guitar riffs, soothing piano chords and a deliciously soulful vocal. Perfect for chilling out in the sun

FCL – It’s You (Mouse T’s Teef Vocal Mix)

I feel the heat, do you? Well you certainly should because not only is it scorchio outside but this is a very hot remix of FCL ‘It’s You’. Straight from the get-go are the beats, vocals and a low rolling baseline that builds until and we hear the introduction of muted guitar licks and some cheeky chords. Simple and seductive

Jonas Rathsman – Skepparkrans

My my, what a cracking track this is. Released by label French Express, ‘Skepparkrans’ is a soulful little number that fuses a synth-heavy melody with a high energy tempo guaranteed to get your toes tapping. Smooth vocals and high hats intertwine themselves throughout providing nothing less than straight up summer time goodness.

Reboot – Enjoy Music (Sonny Fodera Remix)

And finally for some deep house taken from one of my favourite labels – Defected. DJ Sonny Fodera first started out making hip hop music but fast forward in time and Sonny has produced some superb house choons including the massive ‘Everything You Want’ as well as getting his remixing hands on tracks from the likes of Huxley and Doorly.
